This song is beautiful. SRV's guitar sings here. I absolutely love this song - to me this is Jimi's finest creation, and this remake is an incredible tribute and achievment. If anyone wants to know what blues guitar is all about, play both the JH and SRV version of this tune. They go as a pair, complementary, not competitive. First, listen to Jimi's version, and understand the lyrics as a tribute to a woman's ability to bring a man's world to right. Then, listen to Stevie's version, as the guitar perfects the emotion and expands that appreciation. This is music at its best, friends.

I've heard both and I concur. Stevie will always be my favorite guitarist. He played that instrument as though it was an extention of his arm.
