I think this song is about someone Matt lost and now these are his words describing what it felt like to him to lose them. I don't mean lost as in "someone who died," but more of someone who betrayed him, cheated him, or stabbed him in the back.

When you listen to the song it kind of runs all over, with lots of different patterns and changes. Maybe this might be reflecting all the emotions he went through with this person.

I don't thing the song is about god, I think the reference to god is only in there to show that turning to god for questions about how fucked up things in life can be is just a waste of his time.

I looked up the word "incarnadine" and pretty much it seems to be a rather outdated word that is only used in descriptive writing, and in old literature and poetry, but it means "of a flesh color, or blood-red." Synonyms for it are Crimson and any word that associates with blood so maybe the reason he chose this as a name is because he had boiled up to this point and felt like something had to come out. As if he had been put under so much he just got to this point to where he was ready to explode.

My conclusion to what I think the song is about is... in life we often say "you win some, and you lose some." Maybe Matt lost someone and just doesn't understand why things have to be like this. It seems he has pulled every question in his mind as to why this could have happened to him, but still can't figure out why things are like this. That's why torward the end of the song he says...

"But it will never end Don't hold your mother fucking breath Embrace your lonely selfishness"

This is him concluding that he thinks things like this in life are are going to happen to everyone (an endless trial, convicting all), it's just a part of life and now he is left lonely from losing someone and feels he is selfish for wanting to keep them and going through this trial.
