This is probably one of the best songs ever.

When listening to this song initially, It was difficult to divulge a real understanding of what the writer is trying to communicate through his incredibly artistic lryics.

Upon closer examination of the song after breaking down the several different points he trys to make, the listener can determine the following:

The repetition of the line "Scooby-Dooby(Alluding to Marijuana?)-Doo, where are you?" isn't asking so much for the actual location of Scooby-Doo, but more for his standing on the current zany, or cockamamy, if you will, situation. The first verse, stating openly that Scooby and his friends have "got some work to do now" is meant to let Scoob know that his friends are counting on him to come through for them and help them solve the latest mystery they've embarked on. The second verse gets a little more intense as Scooby's friends, in a somewhat joking manner, let him know that they don't have time for his cowardly side to get the best of him. Luckily, in the third verse, the mood is lightened slightly by moving on to the fact that once everything is said and done, and they catch their villain, Scooby will assuredly get his just rewards, and that's a fact. Finally, in the last verse we discover that despite the occasional cowardice discussed in previous verses, Scooby's friends know that, because he is nearly always ready and willing to do so, they can count on him to "catch that villain."
