I love this song, one of my favourites on the album. Anyway, I think the song is about two lovers. Person A is a "popular girl" kind of thing, but when they were young that did'nt matter, and they got along well. But as time goes on, she wants to sepereate herself from him, because he is "weird", not on her wavelngth, dragging her down socially etc.

With the sun in your eyes And on your own Bedshaped And legs of stone You'll knock on my door And up we'll go In white light I don't think so Here, I think Person B is dreaming that she will come back to him, but the last line suggests he thinks, or knows it will never happen. When you says " You'll follow me back, with the sun in your eyes", I think Person B is hoping she "sees the light" (hence the sun), and go back to him, because, while she is popular, or thinks she is, he will be the only true friend she ever has.
