i want to take a different position from my last comment, since it is not clear whether the persecuted woman burnt to the stake is persecuted indeed for the sake of any indicated religion. when the Lord Jesus came to Israel, His own people did not receive Him, though they proclaimed themselves as worshippers, etc. so taking this, the crowd around the girl "praised their merciful god", indicating the God we as believers know, though persecuting the girl who chose the narrow path (we are not to judge!). the crowd accuses her of some apparent blasphemies, but she reminds them they will not escape death either. so really, i myself interpreted a message that we should all really just get along and let the love flow. or else were gonna be hypocrites and burn eachother when were all in the same position, which is always trailed by faults and death.
