I love this song SO much. It's my favourite Maximo Park song, and their my favourite band:)
I love the line "Oh you are just another thing I've yet to fathom" Because fathom is such an expressive word in this case. By the way it isn't "and closed the postcard on a guillotine." It's "And closed the postcard of the painting" Hence the name of the song. I also know the lyrics of by heart. Teehehee. LOL. Anyway I think it's about him being in a relationship that isn't working out because she won't open up to him and she seems somehwhat embarassed. Basically, it's going downhill. Heck I dunno! Just a guess:D When I went on school camp I played this on repeat on my walkman coz we drove EVERYWHERE on the bus. To camp Tawera near Mount Ruapahu. (I'm a Kiwi-lives in New Zealand...)
