I agree with villify except i see it as more of a parental figure, an authority. lines like "I will devour you, Take all the pain away" then like the whole bridge make it seem like this authority is keeping them in the dark and never letting anyone or anything hurt them. They blind them and keep them to themselves for their own snactimonious purposes. So no villify thats not odd at all.
