This is definitely my favorite song of all time, mostly because there is a story behind it:
My boyfriend called me from vacation telling me about this song, so I downloaded it and immediately fell in loveeeee. He left for college, and we ended up breaking up, and this song has come to define our relationship.
I LOVE the part where he sings:
"theres a piece of me in every single second of every single day, but if it's true then tell me how we got this way..."
He is desperate for the girl he is writing this to. He's confused and frustrated, and this EXACTLY defines my feelings for my now ex-boyfriend.
His confusion is also present when he sings
"I can't get to you, i can't get to you....."
He feels so completely helpless.
Don't you love when you can find a song that explains exactly how you're feeling inside? Andrew has a tendency to do that for me :)
