I agree. A person is destroying their own life and becoming horrible in the process, but is blind to it (hence the line "take a look at what you've become"). The writer would chose the truth about the situation rather than this persons analysis of it, because its all lies; its saying 'accept what you are doing to your life'. There is only "one truth for you".
