Jericho was/is a town near the Jordan river in Israel/Palestine. It was the first city that the Jews passed when entering the promised land. God commanded them to sack the town and not occupy. This is where "the walls will crumble..." etc. comes from.
I could be wrong, but "money, love and jealousy" were the 'sins' committed by the Jericho-ans, and that was why God commanded the Jews to sack the town.
I think the "one more mile..." part is all about finally being at the end of a journey (40 years wandering) and the trust involved, "I will follow where you go".
I'm not Jewish, or a religious person, but I started reading the bible, just because I had nothing to do, and when I heard the song, the references were all crystal clear to me. I think the song is all about this bible reference, modified to link to a modern day relationship in 'tough times' that are about to end, just like in the book of Exodus or whatever it is.
