The certain stanza in the lyrics that seems to have arouse some discussion is the first one, including the lines

I lie in an early bed, thinking late thoughts Waiting for the black to replace my blue I do not struggle in your web because it was my aim to get caught But daddy longlegs, I feel that I'm finally growing weary Of waiting to be consumed by you

Although many people have related her replacing the blue with black as unhappiness and emotions, I feel that when she says "I lie in an early bed, thinking late thoughts" she means she waits and waits for him, in her bed as the day passes, in an early bed, meaning that its morning, thinking late thoughts, wishing that it were night so she could go to sleep and have another day pass that will entail she is closer to him, or the subject of this song. When she says "waiting for the black to replace my blue" again she is wanting black (the darkness of the night) to replace the blue (daylight) so another day can go by in which she is closer to getting him, because a day spent without him is a day spent doing nothing but lay in bed, unable to function without him. When she says "I don not struggle in your web, because it was my aim to get caught" she means that he is caught in his "web”, yet she waits there without a struggle, unlike a fly struggles to get out of a spiders web, because he doesn’t want to be there and be eaten, but she wants him to consume her, it's all part of the game we all play in love, and she shows no struggle because she wants him to have her. He, the man she is trying to pursue, is "daddy long legs" and she is the fly that thought she could wait forever, but she is "finally getting weary" of waiting to be consumed by him... therefore she needs a first taste finally, and she needs the games to end and for him to finally give himself up to her.
