Something like 30% of Canadians are descendants of some group other than the English or French. I don't know anything about K-os, but 10 seconds on the 'Net led me to believe he or his parents are from Jamaica. So no, it doesn't seem that he's some "poser" or wannabe reggae artist. He's clearly influenced by his place of origin and the large Jamaican community in Canada.
