Cover art for Expecting to Fly lyrics by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

This is a Buffalo Springfield track, from second album "Again". I know it from Neil Youngs "Decade" album originally and supposedly it was written by Young alone on one of his many break ups from the band. Dreamy strings, a simple acoustic folk rythm guitar, a simple melody and Youngs aching voice, overdubbed, drifting in between each section searching for forgiveness maybe? It's a stunningly beautiful song - with words that just... well... mean everything.

I think they'd had a arguement and split up - and then they split up, he in giant hissy fit months later (at summer) gets over it and tries to tell her how he always felt.
