Just the title itself is amazing, it paints a picture of a strong masculine figure, and a woman who he will never see. The rays seem to be attention fom this hunter and there are none shining on the ghost, she feels as if he doesn't even care about her.
The chorus seems to me to be a fantasy/reality thing. In the first part she is saying that they're together and they'll never ba apart, and he will protect her from all her fears, but the reality sinks in and she realises she is alone and he will never be there to stop her from crying. She then goes on to say she dreams of him, one place where she is not alone. That is what i thought of the song, but after reading all of your guy's comments it does seem as if it is after a relationship, but I stick to my interpretation. This song is so beautiful. tear
