For those who don't know, Lazarus was someone in the Bible who was close to Jesus, became ill and died. Jesus shows up, and raises him from the dead, the story goes.
So to name the man character Lazarus is like a wish for him to come back, to be raised from the dead. It's a nice metaphor, I quite enjoyed it. Brilliant song, regardless of lyrics.
