-the "when your apologies" line sort of means when somebody does you wrong, and you are upset, and you're like, hey that really wasn't cool, they just totally screw something up and their apologies are only said because they have to, but because they really mean it.

"while keeping me in hot pursuit" but they keep you hanging on, keep you wanting them, lead you on, taunt you, etc etc etc
