Even though i liked how this song sounded and the video clip for it, i never really liked the meaning, like saying 'dont lie' over and over again is a bit lame.
A while ago i saw in an interview, Fergie said that "Dont lie" was based on a song that she had written years before, which was about how she used to lead and "unhealthy lifestyle" (im assuming this was drug addiction) and how she lied to herself about it, telling herself that it wasnt such a problem etc..
Then she went on to say that, with the black eyed peas, they remade the song, but gave it a different meaning (about infidelity).
I really dont think they should have changed the meaning because so many songs are about cheating and it gets to the point where it just seems shallow and cliche'
Most of their popular songs seem to be shallow.. lets get it started/retarted or hey mamma (with the exception of "Where is the love") Although i must say that most of them sound really good.
