Interesting, I didn't think of this as an anti-war song. I just took it as about a relationship. I see what you mean now you mention it tho. The singer wants to win at love rather than win at war. And people on either side of the conflicts, even though they fight each other, still try to reach out to each other. Nice interpretation.
