There are a few lines in this song which make me think it's about marital abuse, mainly because it reminds me a lot of a song by Boysetsfire called White Wedding Dress.

"And the scars he will leave And the pain he inflicts..."

These lines definity suggest a dominant male, it could either be a husband or father or someone else, who is being aggressive and/or violent.

"It's our plan, strike a match And lets burn down this place..."

It's here where the comparisons to White Wedding Dress grow, the abused victum decides to take the ultimate action and attempt to kill their abuser by burning them alive.

"The way you bend before the break and The way my throat would feel..."

These lines from the chorus suggest that the abuser will all of a sudden turn aggressive with little warning and that they often resort to strangling the abused.

Thats what i think anyway.

Even though this song does seem to owe a lot to White Wedding Dress it's still an amazing song, Matt addresses the issue from more of a personal viewpoint than Nathan, Boysetsfire vocalist, who in running with his bands own agenda takes up a more political stand, trying to raise awareness on the issue so authoritys can take more action against abusive husbands. I have wonder why it was only used as a b-side and not put onto Hours, still it was released for us all to hear so there's no point in bitching about it.
