Circles Lyrics

This song is about the seeming endless ritual of modern existence. 'Pedal to floor, back in the seat'; is taken to mean each day starts off the same; too quickly. It's a pretty heavy song, and it's message is unmistakable. 'Passing the slow, defeating the weak, all with the time on the sheet'; obviously a play on an egotistical person in a low-wage menial job, thinking he or she is the bomb because they have an extra hour or two on the time sheet for the week. 'Purpose and will vs. modern machine'; you can be highly skilled and versatile, yet be stuck as a one-track cog in the corporate or social machine of the nation. You can feel distant even when you're arm's length. As for the second verse, I think that it points to a person with low ambition who creates self-fulfilling prophecies of failure: 'satisfaction only when I finish the end'. Finally, the final verse begs the question; 'Does it matter what place I began?' In other words:if I start out poor, lonely, as nothing, can I succeed in this ever-changing and ruthless world? This song is very heavy, very in-your face, and mixes the drum and guitar very well with the vocals. In other words; I'm not surprised that of all the 'true' Nonpoint fans posting on the pop songs, only three folks have so far commented on this song. PS - Recoil is cannon-fodder. Don't waste your time.
