"Divided Sky" has something to do with the Gamehendge mythology, which includes such other songs as, "the man who stepped into yesterday" and "colonel Forbin's Ascent." The chant at the beginning of the song is part of an ancient ritual from the pre-wilson years in Gamehendge. there's a story that goes with it, something about three chosen individuals that eat a special root which grows at the base of a mountain in the middle of the forest. This makes sense due to the fact that the idea for the divided sky was concieved during a night of mushroom tripping. after eating the root, the three individuals go into a huge field after sundown. here they climb onto an enormous black rhombus and sing to the gods. A very creative idea. i absolutely love this song the guitar and keyboards especially. phish may well be my favorite band of all time.
