I completly agree with singinsilence. This song is saying that instead of just using words to display your faith we should use actions. "Here is my hand not words said desperately." Also as humans we cannot change someones heart only God can. All we are required to do is love with the same love that Jesus has shown us and everyone will remember that more than words. Today the impact of words alone is not enough. That is what I think this song is trying to get across.
