it reminds me (in a vague and tangential way) of "Coffee Shop Tribute" from 'Lunchmeat of the Giants' by the Gluey Brothers. Theirs is about eating in a coffee shop whose walls are covered with pictures of hazbeens and hazneverbeens. This one appears to describe a hotel with a lots of ghosts and memories.
I love the way it feels. It sounds like an intimate description of a real place. Not sure who the "slaves of culture" are- poorly paid musicians?
