I think this is a case of always wanting to be first. You grow up in a home where you're always seeking approval, but you can never get it. So, when you get older, and get out into the real world, you can't handle anything less. Hence "First place or more, first place or more." Now, think about it. You can only hit first place. There isn't any "more" there's first place, and on down, but that's what ELIAS is seeking. That first place, where he'll finally get that approval. Also, there's this cool intro the band does live, where he says,
'"In circles, in circles, in circles, in circles, going around in circles, in circles, in circles..."' And, it's really slow, and cool!! 'Cause it's like about 30-40 seconds long, and he sings it in a soft voice, fades to whisper, then soft, then whisper, and then, the boys kick into the beginning! I love it!!
