to me, i think this is about finally accepting God and Jesus. the whole song seems like someone who has lived their life waiting for God to come to them the whole way and waited for Him to just pop up, but finally he's realized he has to look himself and take "that leap of faith". when he finally realizes what it all takes, he's unsure if it's what he really wants to do because there's such an "image" of christians that he's sure he won't be good enough.
