This song is confusing. I like it, but it's confusing. The first part, on the surface, is pretty self-explanatory. When I heard it, I just thought he was singing about how valuable love is and how we shouldn't let it go to waste. But then he paints himself as a beggar, and the next part is basically about finding Jesus (which, I'm assuming, is where the title 'Christmas Present') comes in. Then, in the last verse, he talks about judgement day? They seem like they're completely unconnected songs.
So if anyone takes time to listen to this song and try to understand it can you please explain it to me. :-)
