To me this song is a trubute to dreamers and daydreamers and has a strong touch of innocence and honesty to it.
"I hide my identity/ Truth is my worst enemy"
This verse is very honest, considering he basically admits that his life is based on pretense. Very intriguing stuff. The loveable liar... Even though the guy may lie indirectly, it's because he wants to feel good and make other people feel good. "Doing the wrong thing for the right reasons" kinda thing.
"I wanna make believe it's real/ That's just the way I feel"
Once again, this verse goes back to the dreamer element... realists suck :P
I love, love, love this song. Be sure to check out the live version as it's more laid-back but still very cool.
