It's practically the main desire of one of the lower tiers of our society from an image of general respect (not necessarily my line of thinking, though; how society views it). Just an essential view that the jocks are the only attractive people in society; it's like, if you don't play sports, you're not cool and therefore you will never be in a relationship. The song represents, to me, an essential view and hope of myself: my being one of the 'geeks' who wishes to just be in a relationship.
