Lyric discussion by stoolhardy

Honestly, I don't think this song is about anything really. Maybe it's another Tears for Fears song about primal scream therapy again. I don't think there is enough substance in the song to be an anti-capitalism song. Most of all I'd like to know what the following lines mean:

"There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do I'll be right behind you."

Any takers on this question?

I can't say for sure but this is what I got out of it. There's a room where the light won't find you, is the darkness of life; All the sorrow, pain, or loss in our lives. For example we all want power to some degree or to get ahead and when we get it eventually it fades (15 minutes of fame if you will). Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do I'll be right behind you." This is when anything goes wrong in our lives the only thing that matters is us, the people who care (our family, friends, etc...). In the end all...

FearsEnd - excellent comments & your interpretation makes sense. I had a slightly different view ...but I too can't say for sure.

I feel pretty confident that this line has to do with dying and the loss of ego. "I'll be right behind you" means that he knows exactly with you're going through.
