I absolutely love this song. Frunt has a good idea of the song...but i sort of interpretit related to my own experience. Brandon is talking about how a Godly relationship took a turn for the worse and they removed God from it... I think the "you were smiling baby" has do with after the relationship was broken off and he tries to think of the good times they used to have. Its almost like he is regretting stopping the relationship...but he knows he has to "take the other road." It is almost like he is blaming the light/God when he says "the one responsible for all of this"....the one that convicted him about the unGodly relationship....maybe im way off but thats what ithink
