This is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. It combines a biblical story of suffering with a story of love. Tuomas has said in an interview that the lyrics are from him to a certain woman and that she knows what it is. In the Thank You's on the album he mentions "The Haunting Beauty of Gethsemane Garden" and later in Dead Boy's Poem he says "Died for the beauty/The one in the garden".
This song is his way of telling the woman how he feels about her. Honestly, the line "Without you, the poetry within me is dead" almost makes me cry when I'm in the right mood.
The song is brilliantly put together and deserves much more recognition.
