actually... "hasn't eatern your sheep" would make LESS sense than "has eaten your sheep".. If you say something remains something you're assuming that something in between has changed... you can't just say "i remain myself even if i do nothing", its an ambiguous statement, much like saying: "a wolf is a wolf even if it [has done nothing] hasn't eaten your sheep"
