I'm serious when I say this, Bear Creek Western Store and Bear Creek Steak House are in Montpelier, Louisiana, I live about 5 miles down the road, and my mom works there. Back when Garth Brooks was just starting his career-and believe it or not, many country fans didn't like him too much-he used to perform at the Bear Creek Steak House and Saloon regularly. We have always had horses and such. I was little then so I wasn't in on it, but my parents and all their friends used to go to Bear Creek in wagons, watch the show, and then camp out that night and pull home the next day. That's where the buckboard Bear Creek cowboys comes from. The woman who owns the western store also owned the steakhouse at that time and is still good friends with Garth.
