"The war of all against all" is a direct quote from the early philosopher Hobbes who believed life in the state of nature (without government) would be nasty, brutish and short. he basically said that humans are only looking out for themselves and will kill eachother off without some kind of social contract.
I love this song in particular because of all the clever puns, especially "dying to please the enemy."
Another one ... "Bring on all the King’s horses and all the King’s men." This is from Humpty Dumpty if you don't remember it, basically saying that you could bring the entire army and still not be able to piece humpty dumpty back together again ;)
"We were lead to led lovers" lead lovers = gun lovers? Not sure, that's the only thing I can interpret from it.
