Cover art for Good Enough lyrics by Sarah McLachlan

My interpretion is a lot different from all of your's.. let's see if I could put it into easier words...

The song sounds as if it's in the point of view of a man who's talking to this woman (reffered to as "you") that was cheated by her boyfriend/husband. ("I don't have to pretend/she doesn't expect it from me" - means that the man doesn't have to pretend that she wasn't in love with him and that the other woman - the one who's seeing her boyfriend/husband - will soon be in the same situation as the woman)

The man (not talking about the woman's husband/boyfriend) says to the woman that she deserves more than that, that he has never been good to her, and that she's much more than "good enough". The man also promises that he would be good to her and that he would show her that she's more than "good enough".

Some parts of the song I don't get at all though... Like the "Hey little girl would you like some candy/your momma said that it's OK".... It doesn't really make sense to me...

I absolutely love this song and it became my most favorite Sarah MclachLan song - ever. (I also think it could become a great movie (=) But I still like Perfect Girl.
