i reckon this song is about being stereotypical and/or prejudice - "But no, none of it's true cuz I never knew you". like maybe he judged someone he kinda half-knew, until he actually got to properly know them and he realised they weren't the person he thought they'd be (in a good way). it sounds like he's now looking up to them ("And now the truth of it is, is I wanna be like you") for being an individual of some sort and taking all the crap they get for being different.

"Because you tore down the walls that the world that has put inside my head" seems like that person made him more open-minded and that it's the worlds fault for creating narrow-mindedness within people (which i agree with...)

this line "And I just get of sick of things that we think, we think we know" seems to be aimed at people who think they know everything but really they know fuck all.

i could say so much more about this song but it's pretty long already, so i'll stop :) i'll just say this instead: these are lyrics that speak true of life.
