Okay, this is basically what it means to me.
We've all known a person who loves to martyr themselves, who loves to see themselves higher than everyone, yet acts like they'd die for us.
They make you feel like you don't deserve being around them, that you're somehow 'less' than them, and though they constantly tell you to think for yourself and grow a back bone, you still feel dependant on them because they seem so... well, good, for lack of a better word.
This is about realizing that you don't really need them to be a good person.
