Actually.. the ending of the song(3rd verse about waking up and it was only a dream) was only added because it was banned from the radio stations in the late 1800s and 1900s. So he added that 3rd verse to get some playtime back. Yes people did kill themselves to it as well as the writer. This is not a good ending song.. its about suicide and is very dark but by far the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
