ok this song is NOT about socialism or whatever the crap. I mean... i think the system he's talking about is obviously socialistic... however that is NOT what the song is ABOUT.
it's about a guy who's life was built around fixing problems:
"i fought for a decade, corruption & greed, it gave me a purpose, a reason to breathe"
solving problems is all he knows. he thinks it's all he's good for. he needs to be relied upon... he needs to be needed. and he think since the problems are fixed, and his family doesn't "need" him to rely upon anymore, that his life is meaningless and it doesn’t matter if he lives. he thinks if he isn’t being useful that life isn’t worth anything.

...he can’t deal with not being needed... so he's gonna take his life.
