I'm surprised no one's commented on this yet. It's one of my favorite songs off the Hot Fuss CD. I just love the mellowness of it. I think it matches with the lyrics: something has gone wrong, it's a disaster, but he thinks it will work out.
I think that it's a sad love story. He's in love with someone but she broke up with him, but he's not going to give up, he's going to look for her even if it takes him all night.
But as the song progresses, he comes to terms with the fact that she's gone.."Take your suitcase, I don't mind..." while at the same time kind of thanking her for everything, "I wasn't shopping for a doll...but then you took me by surprise." But he's still clearly upset that it's over...very relatable for anyone who's lost someone they loved....
