In relation to the meaning, I think the persona is thinking of an old friendship from the past (with Daniel) that fell apart for some reason. The chorus seems to say that there the persona still hopes that there are no hard feelings, has memories of their friendship, and that 'Daniel' still thinks of him and their friendship.
Well that's what I think anyway... I can relate to it.
Just a few minor changes to lyrics:
"where we fill" should be "where we fell" both times
and
"well you still know me" should be "will you..." both times
