Well, I have yet to see the video so no comparison to such. I do have to point out that this song has NOTHING to do with "drugs" , "drug abuse" and or "substance abuse". These mentioned are the obvious cliches. If you read throughly you will relaize that this is a man who has come to an understanding that he can not continue to hide from all that is good in life whether it be an attraction to a woman or perhaps some other higher level of spirituality.He is basically laying all things in the past aside and realesing a self catharsis.
I have spoken with Ian Thornely at lengths about his song writing process and he has stated VERY CLEARLY that no typical cliches have been penned while doing this album.
