Wow..this band deserves so much more credit than they receive...I would love to fly out to Cali and see them sometime...heck their even Tower Record's band of the month or somethin like that. Anyway, I think this song is about reaching out for something or someone (the "medication") because the narrator is not happy with the person he is becoming. Maybe he is reaching out to God, or a friend to help him. "How you wept, how you tried." That line makes me think that his friend has tried desperately to help him overcome this problem he is facing, and now, he realizes that he never made time to help himself and he knows he needs that friend.
