This is a terrific song to listen to during a long training run - one of the best. For a long time I couldn't figure out what it was about, but it really made sense in the endorphin drenched brain of a long distance runner (me). But then it occurred to me that the song is about the effects of shooting heroin - which I have never done - but this explanation seems to make sense.
I think the first line about love is there to disguise the song's meaning. The rest of the lines describe, I think, the drug's effects.
What is a cotton crown? I'm not sure but I think it is a description of a physical sensation that is hard to describe. What do you think?
