as far as the satellite thing, i would say that its sort of like in the movie 'October Sky' (can you really see spacecraft in the night sky?). its also interesting that they mention that because of the title of the song, being that normally you cant see much in the sky at night in New York City (or even suburbs...) because of ambient light, and its talking about the blackout in 2003. (iirc it was 03)
