He's saying goodbye to someone and wishing them luck on the trip away from his life (St. Christopher is the patron saint of safe travel); where the person didn't have to wear a mask and pretend they were so great in front of him (the part about leaving the trophies and golden wings by the door of his room)...so now theyre going back out into the world where they have to pretend to be great to please the admiring crowd.
