I think this song is about the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. I know that sounds weird but this is also quite a weird song. Lines like "It hides all the teeth, my dear" or "He steps between the trees, a crooked man There's blood on the blade Don't take his hand" definitely remind me of the fairy tale. It could also about some psycho killing little children......

@OpiumForThePeople The one line is a reference to "There Was A Crooked Man" which is an old english nursery rhyme:

There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse, And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

Crooked is another word for dishonest so it seems like Homme meshed the two fairytales together. The Crooked Man and The Wolf are, in fact, the same person. This person is a cannibal that hunts his prey...
