Actually jdb336, you're completley wrong and JerryNipple is completley right. You guys are just forcing some religious aspect on all their songs. Themes like love, and forgiveness don't have to be reserved for God. And even though some Tooth and Nail bands are christian, Mae isn't:

If you want your interpretations, thats fine, but don't try to say its only about god, cause that could reneder the song relativley meaningless to us completley nonreligious people. I guess its back open then, but I don't think its about god.
My guess is its about an amazing love relationship, emotionally close, but physically far away for whatever reason.
