It is hard to understand how so many people in the left still have a romantic idea about the working man. That is probably people who never experienced that kind of life. This is a song about being working class, about those moments when everything around you just crushes the little piece of pride that you try to cling on to. About the way you were treated in school, the way you are treated by your boss, the discrimination and the degradation you get from social institutions… Knowing that you were born for one reason - the reproduction of profit. You will end up with scars in one way or another.
