To me, this song sounds like telling someone to leave all thoughts and reminders of a past relationship and start over. Spring is often metaphored as a starting over/new period for many people or cleaning out clutter. I guess it's the last 3 lines that give the rest of the song a twist and can think of it as a friend motivating a friend caught up on relationship:
